The story of the house

Built around the creek

Chris and Anne found the house in a hailstorm in 2017. They planned to stay for maternity leave and never left.

The restored dark cabin sits in a redwood grove above Mill Creek, about seven minutes from downtown Healdsburg. The water runs year-round. Creek is life.

The center of the house is one long indoor-outdoor room: redwood overhead, stone at the hearth, and glass opening toward the deck.

Meals gather around the table. Records play through a restored vintage Marantz system. Evenings settle in by the fire.

The outside is the point

The rhythm is simple: doors open, meals on the deck, and stars overhead. The heated plunge pool is there for morning coffee or for slipping into after dark.

The Bure

The main cabin and the detached Bure give four guests places to come together and places to withdraw. The Bure began as a garage; now it is a separate guest space with an outdoor shower.
